Daisy Steiner

Sweet Daisy Steiner came from Edgar’s Mission’s huge battery cage hen rescue in 2012. I picked her up with 11 other hens and they were homeward bound to Lefty’s Place. Daisy came out of her shell fairly quickly and she realised that her favourite thing in the world was dust bathing. In the first few weeks of being here, Daisy would dust bathe all day long, only taking little snack breaks in between.

I named her Daisy Steiner after a character in the comedy series, “Spaced” because she had such character and was always talking. I always wanted a rooster called “Tyres” and another girl called, “Twist” to nearly complete the Spaced names!

Daisy spent nearly 3 years roaming around and dust bathing at Lefty’s Place before dying of reproductive issues in 2015.

I miss her happy little face and her constant chattering.
