I get accused of anthropomorphism all the time. I get told that I put human attributes on animal’s feeling and emotions.
Strangely enough, the people who accuse me of this, never spend any time with animals or they profit from the farming of animals. I have spent enough time with animals of many species to know that they form incredible friendships and bonds. They grieve terribly when they lose a friend and they communicate with each other.
Trying to put animals feelings and emotions in a box seperate to our own really makes it easier for humans to use and abuse them.

have you read “animal equality: language and liberation” by Joan Dunayer. She speaks of the qualities of non-human animals and of the language we use to objectify them. She speaks to advocate use of language identifying them specifically as the individual persons they are. Particularly her chapter on animal attributes describes much research past and ongoing which provides proof of the abilities of the non-human as equal and superior to human animals in regard to language, love, appreciation of beauty, rationale and more. I loved that book. You, much more than I will appreciate its veracity.
