Lefty’s Place is a small animal refuge in the Macedon Ranges, Victoria, run by photographer, Tamara Kenneally.

Lefty’s Place Farm Sanctuary is a not for profit animal sanctuary started in Benalla, Victoria by a photographer with a bleeding heart (Tamara), a drummer with a soft spot for animals (Justin) and two sheep named Lefty and Righty. Sadly Lefty passed away in early 2013, but since then we have rescued, documented and given freedom and life to hundreds of animals.

Lefty’s Place has always focused on telling the individual animal’s story – from their hidden suffering in factory farms, abattoirs, saleyards and the like, through to their rescue, recovery and happy lives at Lefty’s Place Farm Sanctuary. Over the years we have rescued, rehomed and given life long sanctuary to hundreds of animals.

After the sudden unexpected death of Justin in 2018, the move from Benalla to the Macedon Ranges, Victoria was made. Our new property is a paradise for chickens especially, with large enclosures and coops being built especially for chickens seeking sanctuary.

Lefty’s Place is a registered not for profit charity.

All donations go directly towards the care, food and vet bills of the permanent residents. Donations also go towards our farm rescue missions and the care and rehoming of these rescued animals. You can donate by clicking the “Donate” button below:
